This is the way it started:
A veterinarian, Kristina Forslund, contacted the famous author of childrenīs books, Astrid Lindgren, and together they started to campaign for a better life for farm animals. The debate started the 22nd of September 1985.
This
newsbill says: "Astrid alarms today: SWEDISH ANIMALS ARE TORTURED. DO NOT BUY THE MEAT." That is how Astrid Lindgren achieved enactment of the 1988 law protecting farm animals in Sweden, "Regeringens proposition 1987/88:93." The Law changed during 1998 and the hens will stay in the cages. |
